What every invoice needs in Canada

Your business name and contact, the client's name, an invoice number that never repeats, the date, what you did, and the total. Once you are registered for GST or HST, the invoice also needs your registration number and the tax shown on its own line.

A due date and a way to pay get you paid faster than anything else on the page. "Due in 15 days, e-transfer to this address" leaves the client nothing to ask.

Weekly mowing, billed monthly

Most lawn clients are easier on one invoice a month than four. Put the visits on one line with the number of cuts as the quantity, add the extras on their own lines, and send it on the same day every month.

Settles for lawn care does that for you: each finished visit lands on a draft invoice, the month goes out on your billing day, and clients pay by card from the link or by e-transfer.
